ME IN A DRESS

Last weekend was a busy one. On Saturday, the BAR Council AGM took place in the morning and later in the evening; we had the Legal Aid Gala Charity Dinner and Dance at Renaissance.

The Legal Aiders performed a multilogue where we sort of joke about some of the funny laws in Malaysia. It went well for the rest but I totally sucked. I was nervous like hell. Dunno why as this is not my first time doing this kind of things. I actually puked all my dinner out (I had Chicken Breast Stuffed with Mushroom with Avocado Sauce. Not too crazy about the sauce but the chicken was delish!). Anyway, when it was my turn to do my part (just my luck, me and Valen had to go first) the stupid microphone refused to work. So it somehow "interrupted" my energy and confidence flow and I was feeling stupid standing there waving my hand trying to tell someone my mike was not working and all the while the spotlight was still on us.

When I finally got a mike that was working, we had to start over. I somehow went on autopilot, due to what happened earlier with the mike and all and I actually repeated some lines (after all the rehersing and memorising...). How embarrassing! I know it was very noticeable but my friends were too nice to say anything about it to me. Anyway, at least it’s over with.

But the night was not a total flop for me eventhough I missed almost 90% of the whole event as I was too nervous before our performance to enjoy the earlier part of the dinner and by the time we finished our performance and my nervousness and embarrassment has passed, the emcee announced that the event is coming to an end. On the bright side, I get to listen to some great music by the Ocean of Fire (I think that’s what they’re called) from Penang and a guy playing a mean saxophone. Can’t remember his name but he’s cute though… hehehe. Managed to squeeze in some dancing (though I danced horribly it was fun nonetheless). And last but definitely not the least, I get to wear this really sweet dress and I got it for a steal too.
