SUDAH JATUH DITIMPA TANGGA

Last week my sister was admitted into Ipoh Hospital which is nothing new for her. She was admitted for hypokalemia (hypocalemia) which she was diagnosed with when she was 11. It is a condition where the level of potassium in the blood is abnormally low. She has been in and out of the hospital since then especially when her potassium count drops to a dangerous level.

Anyway, prior to last week she went on a class trip to Langkawi and since the trip involves a lot of walking and she was without her meds (small yellow-coloured pills called Slow-K), her muscles started to become weak and sooner than she can say 'take me home', she began to have trouble walking or moving any of her muscles, which is a bad sign.

Luckily, it was already towards the end of the trip and they were already on their way back to KL but she couldn't make it all the way back to KL as it would have been very dangerous her. Since Ipoh was the nearest town from where they were at that time, they took her there.

She was admitted on Friday and was finally discharged on Monday as the potassium count in her blood had reached the minimum level.

While she was there, my dad and other sister kept her company and on the way back, they stopped by her rented house in Shah Alam to pick up her laptop and video cam but when they got there, she found those 2 things missing from her drawer. At that time, most of her housemates had already left to go balik kampung since the semester break had started. And of course, when she asked those who are still there, nobody knew anything. Even if they did, I doubt they would say anything and the person who took it (just saying, not accusing) would have be crazy to admit any knowledge of it. Sure, she went to make a police report but lets face it, what good does that do (betul ke ayat ni??)

So, that was that. My poor sister. Dah lah sakit sampai masuk hospital, balik tengok-tengok barang-barang berharga kena curi plak. And mind you, it was not only monetary loss. Irreplaceable and priceless stuff macam gambar-gambar personal, video-video personal dan dokumen-dokumen penting yang ada dalam laptop tu dan video tu pun turut jadi mangsa la kepada individu-individu yang tak bertanggungjawab, tak berhati perut (dan macam-macam lagi perkataan yang tak sampai hati nak sebut kat sini) yang mengambil kesempatan in the event of someone else's misfortune. However, I do not wish them harm, all I wish is that they get what they deserve.
